Ask us to sing for you

There are many factors that determine whether or not the St Martin's Singers would undertake a performance in your venue. For example:

Distance

It is important that the venue is within about 20 miles of Stamford.

Interesting Venue

We prefer old and characterful venues.

Event

We prefer concerts that are promoted for some local or national celebration.

Audience

It is best if you can generate an audience.

Costs

Our costs are to pay for an instrumentalist to accompany: a harpist, organist, pianist; and a rehearsal venue. The costs in 2024 are £195.

If you need us to provide leaflets, posters and banner, that is easily done, but there is an additional cost.

Anything above that, is for your funds.

Organ/piano

Does the venue have an instrument?

If there is an organ, it is only of use if it is in good working order. An historically interesting instrument is a bonus.

If not, we can bring one, so it isn't a deal-breaker, but it is an extra faff. (Or we might use another instrument to accompany).

A keyboard needs one 13-amp socket

Heating and toilet

Heating is absolutely essential in the winter.

A toilet, or at least toilet arrangements, are essential all-year round.

Performance Space and Seating for Performers

We need a performance space big enough to accommodate 20 singers and chairs + keyboard (if required) and conductor.

The venue would need to provided 20 chairs for the singers.
